Can I come along and just try it?

Sure you can! It would be great to see you down at the club. We welcome beginners on the dates shown on the left. This allows us to spend a bit more time with you to take you through the paddling technique and safety briefing. Dragon Boat Racing is not for the faint hearted but, if you enjoy keeping fit (or want to get fit), the out doors and team sports this could be exactly what you are looking for. Use the Contact Us to get in touch and let us know you'd like to come down.
When you come down you need to wear comfortable clothes similar to those you would wear in the gym.  In winter you will need a lightweight waterproof and a buoyancy aid (the club can provide a buoyancy aid for the first few sessions you attend).  You will get wet so bring a change of clothing for afterwards.   We have changing rooms and shower facilities on site.
You can read all about what your first session might involve here.
